Ernie Mossetti

Ernie is the owner and founder of Raceworld and practically ran the store single handedly for over 5 years from it's original inception back in 1988.
The original store was located in the east end of Toronto, and started out with a 8 lane Commercial Slot Car Track built by Steve Ogilvie in a facility that was only about 1200 square feet. In the beginning, Slot Car Racing had been fairly dormant on both the home scene and the commercial one. But things started to heat up in the Toronto and Southern Ontario area and even around the US. Slot Cars were coming back in a big way. In May of 1994, Raceworld made the jump to a larger store and a more central location.

Today, after 17 years from the beginnings of our original store, Raceworld is on the move once again. We're preparing to make another move to an even larger store and hope to be up and running there by July of this year. Remember to send us your email so we can keep you informed and to get on our Grand Opening Party Invitation List As a lover of Slot Cars that goes back to 1965, when Ernie "insisted" that all he only wanted for Christmas was a Slot Car Race Set, his passion is one that has remained undiminished all that time. He spent most of his "waking" hours at his favourite Commercial Slot Car Track in Toronto, O'Connor Raceway. He was a permanant fixture there from the first day he went there in 1966, right up to it's final days in 1978.

Today, Ernie has gained a Worldwide recognition and respect for his Slot Car Chassis Designs, many of which have gained World and National titles in so many categories, and in so many parts of the World. Soon, you'll start seeing products for the Home Racing Slot Car Enthusiast, as Ernie applies his design skills in creating this exciting new line.

Jo Salvaterra

Jo has been with Raceworld since our current store started back in 1994. Another long term lover of Slotcars, whose passion also reaches back to the mid 1960's, his wealth of knowledge of both current and past Slot Cars, is truly unfathomable. If you've met Jo, you'll know exactly what I mean.

If you're wondering about some obscure Slot Car from decades gone by, and can't recall what color it came in, or what style of wheel it had, then you just have to ask Jo.He's also a collector a Slot Cars, from the 60's era cars right up to present day. He is an accomplished modeller, whose work has been commissioned countless times over the years.

Scott Wylie

Scott is our "Chief Wrench" here at Raceworld. His hands have touched just about every car that have raced on our tracks. His patience and attention to detail when it comes to servicing and maintaining Slot Cars cars has earned him repeated accolades from satisfied customers for years and years.

Scott is another Slot Car Racing Veteran who also got his first "fix" at O'Connor Raceway back in the early 1970's. He is an accomplished Slot Car Racer, and earned himself a US National Title in 2001.
