What is Slot Car Racing?

A Slot Car is a motorized scale model of a car with an electric motor on board. Under the car near the front is a guide blade which fits ito a slotted track, hence the name "Slot Car". On each of the blade are metal contacts which are designed to pick up electricity from metal rails embedded in the track, situated on either side of the slot.

The speed of the car is regulated by a hand held device called a controller, which has a spring loaded trigger. The more you squeeze, the faster you go! Becoming a good Slot Car Racer, is determined by well you can regulate the speed without crashing. It's the same for a real Race Car Driver.
